Another sign that GO Transit is on the move.
Clarington Council made the decision to buy a 34-acre property on the west side of Courtice Road – the cost is $2.7 million.
The property will one day serve as the site of the future Courtice GO train station.
While some councillors stated that the money would be better spent on the Courtice waterfront or building a new recreation facility, Mayor Adrian Foster said that the number one request of Clarington residents is to expand the GO train service to Clarington.
