Four Growing Sectors

An economic report, recently released by Scotia Bank, identifies the sectors that are leading job growth in Canada.

piechartThe report indicates that Canada’s economy has been sluggish since the recession, experiencing only a 1.1% annual growth since 2009.

Small businesses (less than 100 employees) have prevented further economic decline for Canada.

Between 2010-2015, small businesses have created 500,000+ new jobs and averaged a 1.4 % annual payroll increase.

Four sectors are driving this growth including construction, real estate, accommodation and food services, and professional services sectors.
