Financial Skills for Youth

A plan to teach students how to handle money has been launched by the Province of Ontario.

Pilot projects in 28 high schools will revamp the Grade 10 Careers Course to make Financial Literacy part of the curriculum.

The pilot program will impact approximately 700 students and will run until June 2017.

Student and teacher feedback during the pilot phase will help redesign the curriculum for September 2018.

Experts welcome the move to teach students financial literacy, many stating that it is long overdue.
