Recently, Toyota Canada unveiled plans to invest $40M in a new distribution centre in Clarington.
Toyota’s current distribution centre in Toronto will be replaced by a 30-acre parcel of land just north of Highway 401 in Clarington.
The centre will handle Toyota’s distribution for Canada.
According to Larry Hutchinson, President and CEO of Toyota Canada Inc – “The land we’ve chosen in Bowmanville will help meet the needs of our parts operations in Eastern Canada by providing us with direct access to major transportation routes, and offering the ability to accommodate future growth.”
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2018 with a completion date in the fall of 2019. It is anticipated that jobs will be created in the long term.
