Where the Jobs Are

With a record number of unfulfilled jobs in Canada, the Labour Market provides many opportunities for job seekers.

Currently, there are more than 361,700 unfilled jobs in Canada according to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB).

At 5.9%, Canada’s unemployment rate is the lowest it has been since the financial crisis of 2008-2009.

More than 390,000 net new jobs were added in 2017. The 2.1% increase is faster than the growth of the population.

British Columbia is leading the way with the highest job vacancy rate in Canada at 3.4%. A total of 60,100 jobs are available – the highest number of unfilled vacancies in the country.
