Downtown residential areas are experiencing a renaissance.
Walkability, access to transit, services, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues are appealing factors that are influencing many (particularly millennials) to live in the downtown cores of their municipalities.
Currently, a number of major residential developments are underway in the downtown Oshawa area. The photo (from the City of Oshawa website) shows the potential skyline of Oshawa’s downtown once developments are completed.
It is expected that 6,000-8,000 people will move to the city’s centre over the next 10 to 15 years.
